Chase the Pout Games™ to Debut at 31st Eelpout Festival

New in 2010: Two festive days, a 30' Long Ice Bar, Olympic-influenced Games and the Pout

 Ranger Boats - RangerBoats.comWelcome to the newest feature of the 31st Annual International Eelpout Festival, the Chase the Pout™ Games. The Games are sponsored by one of Minnesota’s premier resorts, Chase on the Lake, and make their inaugural debut on Friday and Saturday of Eelpout Weekend.

The Games will blend a bit of pout with a bit of Olympic fever in honor of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, which coincide with the Festival this year. We seek teams of four (21 and older) who are willing to put aside their pride and have some fun in the outdoor elements, all while trying to win some cool prizes as well as a place for their name on the official traveling Chase the Pout Trophy. All you need to participate is an official 31st Annual Eelpout button. Same day team registration will occur at Chase on the Lake.

There will be three Olympic-influenced events and the Polar Pout Plunge that will count toward participating teams overall point tally. Prizes are awarded in each event to the team with the most points. This team gets the honor of having their names added to the traveling Chase the Pout Trophy. The Olympic-influenced events include:

  • Pout Curling - Teams will throw special stones and try sweeping them to victory. Walker’s local curling club will facilitate the “stone-pout” throws and button landings
  • Pout Relay - This relay race will test participants’ agility, speed and proper “pout-baton” handling
  • Pout Luge - Teams will pedal their “sleds” down a “pout track” vying for the quickest time
